Richard B. Vaught was born in San Francisco, California. He attended the University of California at Santa Barbara for his B.A. and graduated with high honors in 1979. Afterwards he went to the Hastings College of Law at the University of California, completing his Justice Degree in 1983. He was also admitted to the state bar in 1983 and has used his status to serve his home state for 25 years.

Richard has served on the Board of Governors and was also Vice President of the Santa Clara county trial lawyers association.

Richard B. Vaught is currently a member of the following associations:
